Charise+Scott {Mackinac Island Wedding Photography}

The weather was warm, the feather's on Charise's Italian custom made dress danced in the wind, and there wasn't a dry eye to be found anywhere.  It was a perfect day at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.  A perfect day for Charise+Scott to be married.

From the minute we met Charise+Scott, Mark and I secretly fell in love with them.  So, I guess the secrets out now.  We couldn't have asked for a sweeter couple to serve on their wedding day.  Charise and her family have been vacationing at the Grand Hotel since she was alittle girl, so it was an obvious choice for their marriage celebration to take place.   They had an intimate ceremony on the front porch, followed by dinner and dancing inside the hotel.

Charise+Scott...THANK-YOU so much for inviting us to document the first day of your new adventure together.  You both hold a dear and special place in our hearts and we wish you the absolute best in your marriage.  And just between us, we "fell for you too".

Ceremony/Reception Venue:  The Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, Michigan

Flowers:  Margaret’s Garden

Officiant:  Reverend Brian Tuttle

Walking your only daughter down the aisle, holding her hand and thinking about how she was once your little girl and you're about to give her away, has to be one of the toughest things a dad can do.  Deep breathes from Charise's dad and flowing tears from the beautiful bride were evidence of this.  The image below is one of my favorites from the day.

Shannon+John {Nashville Wedding Photography}

When I (Noelle) arrived to meet Shannon on the morning of her wedding, she was all smiles (which of course is what every good bride should be doing on the morning of her wedding!).  And, and this is a BIG and, she also was calm.  In fact she might just win an award for being one of the  calmest brides I've ever met!  Shannon+John did their "first glance" at Moss Wright Park in Goodlettsville (also the location for their ceremony!), which provided such a beautiful and romantic setting for them to have a few quiet moments together before the ceremony began.

One thing Mark and I strive for when shooting family portraits, is to keep things 'moving along' and to keep people laughing so things look natural and relaxed.  I think John's dad and friends got the idea as you can see in a few of the images below.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "You're never fully dressed without a smile" and because of that these guys were dressed to the nines!

Shannon+John, thanks for inviting us into your day and being so great to work for!  We wish you both best in the years to come!  Enjoy a few images from your collection!

Charise+Scott {Mackinac Island Photography}

Mark and I stood by the boat marina during the first week of August, alittle anxious.  It was Charise+Scott's wedding day and we were about to meet them face to face for the first time.  As we stood there panning the crowds, our attention was drawn the to model looking couple walking towards us because, oh yeah, not only did they look amazing, but they were turning the heads of all in the crowds.  Really.

Charise+Scott are the reason we love our job.  No, not because they look like models, but because they laughed and they oozed loved for each other.  We plan on doing a full write up on them soon, but I wanted to share a few images from their session that took place on the morning of their wedding and let everyone know what a great idea this was because when we arrived at the Grand Hotel later that afternoon for their ceremony, we all felt like old friends (I must mention that Charise's AMAZING mom, aunt and cousin came along for the morning shoot as well, BONUS!)!

Mark grabbed all of the images below.  The first is the one that I think he was going for.  It's intimate, sexy, fabulous.  The second is most likely the way Charise+Scott felt as Mark asked them to gaze into each others eyes while hundreds of people walked by "trying" not to look.  I love it.

I LOVE this last image.  Charise+Scott, you two were perfect to work for, and we loved meeting you and sharing in your entire day!  You made us love our jobs alittle more.  We can't wait to show you the rest, but for now, enjoy the teaser!

Miwa+Chris {Nashville Wedding Photography}

All I could say to them was, "konnichiha".  Which, got me pretty far actually.  Ok, well maybe not.  But it did make alot of people smile.  See, a few years back Chris set off on an adventure of a lifetime.  He is a teacher, and left for Toyko, Japan to teach english as a second language.  Miwa lived in Toyko, and I guess she must have been there waiting for him because as soon as the two met, romance blossomed.

Last month Chris+Miwa, along with Miwa's family and friends, flew to the United States to get married at the beautiful Historic Cedarwood mansion.  And while most of Miwa's family spoke little to no english, my attempts at saying "konnichiha" made them laugh alittle and laughter is the common language of the world, right?

It was so great to be back out working with the crew at Cedarwood!  They helped to make Chris+Miwa's day beautiful and everything go smoothly.

Chris+Miwa, we wish you two the best in the years to come!  Next time, we will learn to say 'good-bye' in Japanese!  Enjoy your teaser!
