Sit down in comfortable chair, grab a cup of egg nog or coffee and take a deep breath.  It's Monday.  This little blog we've started is not just about photography, but also about life, what inspires us and some of the details that fall inbetween the lines.  We want to get to know you (leave us a comment or send us an email!) and hopefully you'll get to know alittle more about us.

For starters, we're neither videographers nor cinematographers.  We just happen to own a few camera's that take AH-MAZZZ-ING HD video.  We thought we'd take advantage of that.  So we've created MONDAY'S WITH THE MCCOY'S, it's a chance for us to to chat alittle about life in front of a camera, as opposed to behind it. Enjoy!

In celebration of banjo's and birthdays...

Me when I first met Mark:  I was a girl, living in Michigan, who had a desire to learn how to play the banjo. I was in a bad relationship with a guy who was 100% wrong for me, when one day out of frustration, I walked into a music studio to sign up for banjo lessons.   I needed to do something for myself.  Of course, no one in Northville, Michigan teaches 'banjo' lessons.  So I bought a used guitar and signed up for guitar lessons.

Mark when I first met him:  Had long hair.  Smiled, all the time (he still does).  Was playing bass guitar in a band that was just about to be signed onto Sony Music Label.  He was an extremely creative person and talented musician (he still is).  He was also teaching guitar lessons at a music studio in Northville, Michigan and had an opening for a new student.

We quickly became "just friends", though I had a crush on him from moment one.  And I still remember the day we crossed that label off our list, and became "more than just friends".  I remember what I was wearing, what time it was, how I was sitting... just like it was yesterday.  I would have never thought that by walking into a music studio that fall afternoon, that I would find my true love.

It was Mark's birthday yesterday, and I wanted to take a moment to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Mark, thank you for giving me years of your life.   For nourishing my dreams and for being a part of them.  Thank you for always encouraging me from the beginning when you used to laugh at me for complaining about how the guitar stings hurt my fingers.  You told me it would get better.  I'm grateful that I was in bad relationships before I met you, if they had been even semi-good, I may have not walked into that guitar store.  And I am beyond words ecstatic that I am the owner of your last first kiss.

Happy Birthday my Mark, you are amazing to me.  And btw, I still have a crush on you...
