Welcome to our blog!

We are Mark & Noelle McCoy, that's us in the picture above!  We are a husband & wife Northern Michigan photography team serving couples who care deeply about their wedding pictures and who want vibrant and classic imagery that documents their day.  We photograph weddings on Mackinac Island, Traverse City, and everywhere in-between.  We have also shot weddings internationally in beautiful places like Guatemala and Italy, not to mention a handful of beautiful places across our own country from North Carolina, to Texas, Tennessee and Ohio!

Thank you for stopping by our blog… please send us an email if you'd like to talk with us about your wedding plans!

We are currently booking for 2014.

Karen+Austin {Nashville Wedding Photography}

Honestly, the two or three hours we spend shooting an engagement session goes by faster than the blink of an eye.  Especially when the couple we get to work with makes us feel like our jobs are not work, but more like playtime.

Karen+Austin met while attending Yale University, when they both signed up to go on a trip to Nicaragua.  They are one of THE SWEETEST couples we've met, we just love everything about them (including their love for unique and fabulous cuisine!), and we had so much fun documenting a day of their engagement a few weeks ago.

Karen+Austin, we can't wait for the big day!  Until than, enjoy your images from your engagement session!

Laura+Josh {Nashville Wedding Photography}

Yes, please.  We'll take a beautiful bride in a stunning Maggie Sottero dress.  We'll take a groom with a larger than life personality.  And we'll take a beautiful September day to photograph their wedding in Nashville at the Scarritt Bennett Center.

Laura+Josh's wedding was 100% "THEM", and we have to admit it's been a VERY long time since we've met two such creative and original thinkers.  The groomsmen surprised everyone by dancing down the aisle to "We Will Rock You".   The groom made his entrance by marching down the aisle to "The Imperial March" (otherwise known to me as "Darth Vader's Theme Song"!).  Laura was graceful and breath taking in her ballgown and cathedral length veil, as she clung to her father with tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.

Laura+Josh, thank you for allowing us to witness the first day of your marriage by photographing your wedding here in Nashville.  We did not stop smiling and laughing the entire time.  Between touching moments of interaction and love, to bright orange suits and pimped out lightsabers, you two threw an AMAZING party.  We wish you the best in the years to come!  Enjoy a few image from your collection.

Oh, and of course, the day won't have gone as smoothly without the following people:

Ceremony:  Scarritt Bennett Center

Reception:  Gaylord Springs

Dress:  Maggie Sottero

Coordination:  Courtney Hammons, A Magical Affair

Videography:  2Duce2 Video

Reception Band:  The Wooten Brothers

ps.  I forgot to mention that Josh is a bass player.  And I guess the musician side of him came out when it came time for rehearsing the groomsmen's "We Will Rock You" march (as you can see below)... Well Maestro Josh, your epic entrance was a master piece.  Bravo!

Amanda+James {Mackinac Island Wedding}

One of the reasons we love shooting weddings, is because every wedding it different.  No two couples are just alike, no two days, no two sunsets.  So everytime I sit down to write about what makes THIS wedding different, it makes me think about how true love is such a fascinating thing.

Amanda+James are the cool kids on the block.  They are ones with contagious laughter.  The ones with so much passion for each other it kinda makes you want to find your own sweetie and give him or her a big kiss!  And because they laughed and loved so easily, our camera's secretly wanted to be BFF's with them.

Putting aside the fact that Amanda was simply gorgeous, and James very dapper in his bowtie... they picked a fabulous venue (we LOVED the Grotto at the Inn at Stonecliffe for a wedding on Mackinac Island!) and they were blessed with beautiful sunshine.  What more could a wedding day ask for, right?!

Well Amanda+James, it was SO great to meet you and we wish you the best in your marriage!  Enjoy a few images from your collection, and keep an eye open because we just might be coming to visit you on the Olympic Peninsula sometime soon!
