Mackinac Island Elopement

My friends, we've all heard it said, but happiness really is a choice.

We poured our hearts into every job we shot in 2017 and gave it our all. And even though my eyes have been glued to the computer, and I'm exhausted down to my bone marrow, choosing happiness today is an easy thing to do.

So when your wedding day comes and you want warm and sunny, but you get freezing cold and rainy... choose happiness. And let the wind blow your dress around and then dance on the beach.

Thanks to Carole Erbel, and For the Love of Mackinac, for doing such a great job coordinating the day!!

Beautiful Bride at GRAND HOTEL on MACKINAC ISLAND

We are in the thick of "editing" season. Lots of hours spent in front of the computer, lots of dirty coffee mugs scattered around my desk, and lots of post-it notes stuck everywhere.
.
But when I wake up, and find that overnight one of our recent weddings had over 200 people register to view it, I smile and gladly get back to work knowing Mark and I are doing something right.
.
The beautiful wedding in the photo here is our next one up. Such a sweet bride and her tribe, LOVED the color palette, and loved shooting at Grand Hotel.
.
The coffee is hot, so happy Saturday morning friends! Hope you all do something fun this weekend, because before you know it we'll be covered in snow!

Elopement on Mackinac Island

I am thankful for a job that has brought me to Mackinac Island. Because it’s kind of like a dream here. Except it’s not. It’s real. There really are horse drawn carriages, amazing flowers, an 8 mile road with only bikes riding around it, and people walking around with large smiles at all times. People always seem to want to know how Mark and I ended up on this quaint little island, and my answer in a nutshell is curiosity. “What would it be like to work one wedding a year on Mackinac Island?” As a girl who grew up “down-state” in another quaint little town called Northville, I have always loved the little island and the magic you feel every time you step off that ferry boat. Has it always been easy? Has it always made sense? Has it always been a clear path? Of course not. Like I said, this island is real, and so is life living in on it. But, curiosity will lead you down many amazing paths in life, and don’t we owe it to ourselves to follow them?

A big shout out to Carole Erble, for helping this beautiful elopement go off perfectly!!!
